About Dutch Designer Lies Holthinrichs

Because her parents ran a Scandinavian furniture store, Lies Holthinrichs grew up between fabrics and Scandinavian design. That has led to her sense of sleek design. The simplicity of this style and good design has attracted her. This inspired her to follow the architectural design course at the Minerva art academy in Groningen in combination with working in her parents' company. Later she studied textile art at the academy in Genk, Belgium. Lies' designs are characterized by simplicity, functionality, and contrast. The contrast in her designs can be found in the use of contrasting colors, materials and finishes.
