From Mondrian to Dutch Design
In 2017 it was hundred years since art movement "De Stijl" was founded in the Netherlands with the launch of the magazine De Stijl by designer Theo van Doesbrug in Leiden. Piet Mondrian was one of the designers and architects of this art movement who wanted to introduce a whole new art form that would have a great influence and bring about innovation in society. And with success. Even today Dutch designers like Hella Jongerius, Maarten Baas, Piet Hein Eek and Joris Laarman are inspired by De Stijl and its designers.
