Humor, recognition and nostalgia

After training at the Vocational School of Schoonhoven and the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam - where she graduated with distinction in the field of Fashion/Forecast - Martine Viergever started her own studio in a former sports hall of a child daycare center in Rotterdam. Here Viergever creates her unique jewelry. From her fascination with man's interaction with objects, it is her mission to design jewelry that intrinsically creates a bond with the wearer, by evoking universal emotions such as recognition or memories, nostalgia or humor. She succeeds particularly well in her aims to evoke humor, recognition and nostalgia. Her work is praised within the design world and in addition to her own collection, she also created collections for the idiosyncratic fashion brand Monique van Heist, the fashionable jeans brand G-Star and the luxury men's fashion brand Francisco Benthem. Some items from the Viergever's jewelry collection can also be seen in the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam and in the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. With her unique views on jewelry and her perfectionism when it comes to their execution, her collection has found its way into the exhibitions of the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.
