Organic formed ceramics

Self-producing designer Olav Slingerland works daily on his creative, self-cast ceramic dishes, bowls and vases. Ceramics by Olav Slingerland are characterized by organic forms which he is able to combine excellently with industrial details. This allows him to create startling contrasts in his work. Ceramics by Olav Slingerland are inspired by life in the broadest sense of the word. Slingerland seeks to surprise and elicit joy with his ceramics, which is the result of his vibrant character. This is also the reason why accessibility is central to his designs. This accessibility is reflected in flowing shapes and colours that can be easily combined with various interiors.

Handmade with great attention 

Olav Slingerland studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where he became acquainted with the ceramic process. During his training he became very enthusiastic about the casting of clay. This clay casting technique made it possible for him to create his very own shapes. His personal mission is to create "Olav's shape world'. Besides offering great creative freedom, this technique allows Slingerland to produce his designs in-house. With the application of casting molds, it is possible to deliver medium production runs. Yet all products in the ceramics series by Olav Slingerland remains handmade and are produced with great attention. Slingerland designs and produces all of his works from his studio in Lithuania, where his fellow designer Christel Verhoeven also has her studio. Looking for a nice decorative plate, bowl or vase?
