Hand and homemade

Westerman Bags offers a colorful collection of felt sleeves for Apple and Kindle devices. Annemieke Westerman loves 'slow design': she seeks to achieve a reappraisal of traditional handicraft. Annemieke makes all her felt sleeves by hand in her studio at home. With great attention to design, materials, details and process, she ensures a sleek finishing of every individual item. Her love for the product is reflected in the end result!

Natural materials

The timeless Sleeves from the Colour Collection of felt covers for Kindle, iPhone, MacBook and iPad are made of natural materials. The colors and textures of natural felt and leather are a great inspiration for designer Annemieke Westerman. Yet her designs are characterized by a practical elegance in which form follows function. The stylish covers by Westerman Bags are recognizable by the contrasting colors with always a subtle red accent.

Thank you Etsy

Annemieke Westerman strongly believes that products can still be developed and designed in the Netherlands. And with good reason, because her designs have attained popularity throughout the world. The first Westerman bags were made from bicycle tires and seatbelts and were brought on the market through Etsy. Motivated by the products' success and a love for crafts and materials, Annemieke decided to expand her collection. The result is a comprehensive collection of felt and leather sleeves, cases and wallets.

Leather and felt

Annemieke Westerman has both a technical and a creative background. The combination of engineering and fashion design gave her the knowledge and motivation to design bags and covers for iPhone, iPad and MacBook. With felt and leather, she creates sustainable and environmentally friendly products. Together with an intern from a fashion school, Annemieke creates the collection of covers and bags on a small scale and by hand in Westerman Bags' studio. In addition to two-meter wide rolls of wool felt and buffalo leather, you'll also find two beautiful industrial sewing machines in Westerman's studio. Her professional tools easily pierce through many layers of felt and leather. One of Annemieke Westerman's favorite tools is the wooden strap cutter (belt cutter), which allows her to cut thick cowhide strips with minimal effort. All without electricity! Westerman won the design challenge for Mini. Superstore Kids clothing and her designs are sold by the Textile Museum in Tilburg.<
