Historical towel Usuals
Tea towels with a story! How often do you find those? The designer Towel 'National Archives' from Usuals is specially designed for the new National Archives in The Hague (2014). This is why Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe used images and documents from the archives. As a result, these kitchen towels from Usuals bring the history of the Netherlands to life!
Each tea towel is unique
The kitchen towels from Usuals display documents, made of three layers of varying lengths. Stacking the colour layer, history layer, and recent history layer naturally produces an infinite range of unique textiles. Due to the print and designs being different each time, the exact image on your National Archives towel (67 x 61 cm) remains a surprise. The result will be a truly unique piece! The tea towels are available in 3 colors: burgundy-beige, red, yellow and blue-green. The Textile Museum is responsible for weaving these organic cotton tea towels.

The images on the Tea Towel 'National Archives' from Usuals consist of collection pieces from the National Archives. The towels themselves are woven by the Textile Museum. Thus, the cotton kitchen towels give a historical account of a thousand years in Dutch history. Dry your tableware with historical material... doing the dishes becomes a true pleasure!
