Hand crafted 100% silver bracelet

This Mondrian design bracelet is made of 100 % silver (925 Ag). It has an inner perimeter of 19 cm, which fits perfectly around the average wrist of 17 cm. The bracelet is divided into rectangles: the deeper parts are 0,8 mm thick and have a scratch effect, the higher parts are 2,3mm thick and are somewhat more coarse sanded. the inside of the bracelet is finished with an ice crystal effect. The bracelet is hinged in the middle and has a pull lock with a pin that fits in the 3 tubes of the hinge

Mondrian style

The Mondrian look of this silver bracelet stems both from the rectangle pattern and the use of red, yellow and blue acrylic resin to fill up six of  the reactangles. Colour pigments are added to the in itself transparent Acrylic resin, which gives the colours depth. The resin is then dried and hardened with UV light. It is strong and smooth and you can clean it with water, soap and a soft toothbrush. When you want the jeweller to polish your bracelet again, it is no problem to put it in the polishing drum.

Piet Mondrian (1872 – 1944) was a Dutch painter, art theorist and one of the most important forces behind the magazine ‘De Stijl”. He is generally seen as a pioneer of the abstract and non-figurative art. Especially his later geometric-abstract work, with the distinctive horizontal and vertical black lines and primary colours is world famous and serves as inspiration for many architects and designers of applied art.
