The White House stands out in its surroundings because it was one of the few buildings in the center to survive the bombing of Rotterdam in 1940. The White House
The White House is one of the most beautiful buildings in Rotterdam. It was built in 1897 based on American skyscrapers. With a height of 43 meters, it was the tallest office building in Europe at the time. To provide this colossus with sufficient support on the soft Rotterdam soil, a thousand piles were driven into the ground for the foundation. The building has eleven floors, three of which are under the sloping roof. There are various decorations on the bluestone facade of the ground and first floors: columns, floral motifs, and, at the base of the two corner towers, winged dragons. The White House was one of the few buildings in the city center to survive the bombing of Rotterdam in 1940. In the 1990s, the facades and roofs were returned as much as possible to their original state.

After a trip to Bali, Ronja Brall decided to change course and focus entirely on establishing Riverstones. Her goal was for Riverstones to become the first sustainable and affordable jewellery brand that’s inspiring to women. She does so by creating sustainable and fair jewellery, using Max-Havelaar-certified fair-trade silver and gold and ecological packaging. All jewellery is made by hand in Bali.
