Pure carafe by Willem Noyons

The Pure Carafe is designed by Willem Noyons for the Dutch design label Goods. The design of the Pure carafe stems from the drinking glass, the height of which (9.2 cm) is equal to the height of designer Willem Noyons. The dimensions of the top and bottom diameters are related to this and refer to a measurement system developed by architect and Benedictine monk Dom Hans van der Laan, based on the plastic number, a three-dimensional elaboration of the golden ratio. The carafe is created by placing the shape of the drinking glass on a sphere with a capacity of one liter. A glass functions as a stop. The pure dimensions of the carafe and glasses made of clear crystal glass are the beauty of the whole.

Willem Noyons

Willem Noyons is a versatile Dutch visual artist and designer. Noyons was born in 1956 into a jewelry family. His father, Jan Noyons, was a well-known artist and goldsmith. Many of the products designed in Atelier Willem Noyons are enduringly popular. This can be attributed to the imaginative and timelessness of his designs such as the Double Vase or the Pure carafe set. But other Noyons products are also receiving a lot of attention. He designed a vase for the wedding of Willem-Alexander and Máxima and also on the occasion of the birth of their daughter Alexia, a vase was made by Noyon's hand. In 2013, for the change of the throne, he once again designed a special vase for this royal occasion. Noyons is an expert in the field of glass design and production. Atelier Willem Noyons is located in Utrecht. His work can be found in the Stedelijk Museum and National Glass Museum.
