From Mondrian to Dutch Design: 100 years De Stijl
In 2017 it is hundred years since art movement "De Stijl" was founded in Netherlands with the launch of the magazine De Stijl by designer Theo van Doesbrug in Leiden. Piet Mondrian was one of the designers and architects of this art movement who wanted to introduce a whole new art form that would have a great influence and bring about innovation in society. And with success. Even today Dutch designers like Hella Jongerius, Maarten Baas, Joris Laarman and Piet Hein Eek are inspired by De Stijl and its designers.
