Magnolia Vase in Delft blue porcelain

This striking vase is a work of art in itself. Designer Malika Novi is breathing new life into the traditional tulip vase with a contemporary design. For this vase, she is inspired by two flowers, the Dahlia and the Magnolia. Two striking flowers symbolize purity, beauty, and keeping a good focus. This is reflected in the vase. Unnecessary distractions have been removed and what remains are clean lines that form the same shape as the petals of the two luscious flowers when viewed from above. The Magnolia vase is made of porcelain and available in four colors: completely white, Delft blue, deep blue, and gold.

The Heinen story

It starts at the end of the ’70s when Jaap Heinen who draws and paints in Japanese and Chinese Imari style, also starts to paint in Delft blue. In Putten, he begins a small atelier in which he also glazes and bakes. His son Jorrit joins. When - starting from 2007 - the demand for hand-painted Delft blue falls back, Jaap and Jorrit open their own factory in China which produces in Putten designed earthenware, focused on the souvenir market. Hand painting, however, remains a passion and it grows again in popularity since 2015. Employing the best designers, decorators, and ceramic technicians and with love for the centuries-old Delft blue craft, Heinen brings Delft blue tradition and innovation: Creating new traditions. The Heinen Magnolia vase proves that this goes further than the traditional color combination of blue and white.
