Leiden Coasters - set of 4

These Leiden Coasters have the design of the city center of the city of Leiden, known for the oldest university in the Netherlands, the Rapenburg, and the Oude Rijn that runs right through the city. Laser-cut by the people at CRE8 from FSC certified European birch plywood. The laser cutter gives the coasters elegant dark edges. The Leiden Coasters come in a set of four coasters in a suitable box made of ECO cardboard. Each coaster has a small engraving with the name of the city.

Designer Jurre Groenenboom

Jurre Groenenboom studied Industrial Design at the Technical University in Delft and worked at department store Hema as a product designer and at Ideal & Co as a sustainable product designer.  He founded CRE8 social venture in 2014. In his role as a creative coach at CRE8,  Jurre is working on the development of the creative potential of the young people that work there. He has also designed several items in the CRE8 assortment.

CRE8 - social venture

CRE8 is a social venture, that helps young people with some distance to the labour market to develop their talents. At CRE8 they combine learning and working with digital manufacturing techniques like 3D-printing and laser cutting, supported by experienced craftsmen who share their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm. When you buy a CRE8 vase, a quality mark is added to each vase, so you can discover online who is the proud “maker” of your vase. In the CRE8 workshop in the heart of Amsterdam, all CRE8 products are made. When available, all products are made from sustainable materials. In addition, all the processes to be powered by 100% green electricity.
