Functionals Patterns tablecloth and 6 napkins
Made of 50% cotton and 50% linen in damask style (derived from the city of Damascus), one of the oldest weaving techniques in the world, in which drawings are made on a background of the same color. The drawing can be seen in detail from a certain angle. For the Functionals Patterns tablecloth designer Claire Vos chose a graphical pattern of Scottish origin in light grey. The motif appears and disappears into the soft white background. The tablecloth measures 275 x 165 cm and is at its best on a table of around 200 x 90 cm. Patterns gives both the weekday meal as dinner with friends just that extras.
Designer Claire Vos
It is no surprise that Claire Vos is textile designer by profession. As she says: "the love for textiles is in my blood. Producing textiles and ceramics is for generations in my family." Claire has focused on translating traditional techniques and forms, with the quality of the materials she uses in mind. Although her inspiration may stem from a Dutch wool blanket or an Indonesian ikat fabric, the end result has a modern look and an almost graphic or industrial quality.
