About the designer 

The Sucker Hooks are designed by industrial designer Jan Hoekstra in collaboration with Leon Ramakers. Hoekstra’s objective to create minimalist designs is always supported by his clever way of thinking. With his designs, Jan Hoekstra tries to turn our daily tasks into everyday pleasures. This also applies to the Sucker Hooks by Droog; minimalist in design but at the same time extremely practical and aesthetically pleasing. 

Hoekstra received several prestigious design awards and a number of his products are included in the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the MOMA in New York, and the Chicago Museum of Architecture and Design.

Jan Hoekstra graduated from the Design Academy in Genk, Belgium, in 1989. In 1990, he joined FLEX/theINNOVATIONLAB, where he became involved in the design and development of consumer products. In 2003, he founded his own company, Jan Hoekstra Industrial Design, from which he works for famous Dutch brands such as Droog, RoyalVKB, and Van Esch.
