Susan Bijl

Product designer and more...

Susan Bijl wanted to be a product designer, but she never thought her purse would become such a huge success and establish her reputation. In 2000, she started designing bags of durable ripstop nylon. Ripstop Nylon is also used to make tents and tarps and is not only water resistant, but very durable as well. In 2003, Bijl was sufficiently satisfied with the design of the 'hemdtas' and brought it to market, even under her own name. Susan Bijl is not only a Dutch woman, wife, mother and designer, but also a designer label. Meanwhile, her attic has been exchanged for a real studio, the bags are extremely popular in Rotterdam, but even in Tokyo her name is inextricably linked to the bag. We know there are more creative ideas for durable products in the pipeline and hope that "Susan Bijl's Family' will rapidly expand.
