Design duo

Yvette Scheltema graduated from the Technical University of Eindhoven as an architect. She worked for several architectural firms and designed several buildings, but never lost her passion for product design. After a brief career as an architect, she followed her passion and focused entirely on product design. She started her own design studio and label Mayves with her husband Denis Bégin Denis Bégin graduated in Canada at the Université Laval in Quebec City, in the field of Communication & Design. He mostly takes on Mayves branding projects, but with his graphic design talent he laid the foundation of the first two design series of the Cardles; the patented folding system for cards that can be folded into a candlestick. Both the Scenes from the Low Lands and the Scenes from the Woods were designed by Bégin. The Cardle was this designer team's first product and proved to be an immediate success.
