Sylvie van de Loo started het own design studio SEMdesign in 2005. SEMdesign specializes in product design. SEMdesign seeks to challenge people to look at products in a different way. SEMDesign often chooses a different approach to the design of everyday interior products, such as lighting, bowls, textiles, and adds a touch of humor to it. But the products by SEMDesign are certainly not a joke, because the production and execution of the designs are done with great care , while at the same time carefully considering functionality. The fruit bowl is a good example of a functional design with a touch of humor. Fashioned out of impregnated layers of cardboard or wood.
