Metalbird is the brand name of metal birds. The brand thereby accurately reflects what it is: a bird silhouette of cut Corten steel metal. This bird decoration is handmade, packaged in a beautiful box that can easily fit through the mailbox and is simply mounted with a tap of a hammer.

Dutch birds of metal

Dutch designer Henk Lakeman is a carpenter by profession and familiar with working with wood and steel. During a trip to New Zealand, he was inspired by his friend and artist Phil Walters to create bird silhouettes of Corten steel. Back in the Netherlands, Lakeman made several Dutch bird species into bird decorations. The metal birds by Metalbird are available as an owl, woodpecker, blackbird, wren, robin, and kingfisher.
