How does the PiepEi egg timer work?

When you keep the PiepEi egg with the eggs in the refrigerator, it is always ready for use. Put the PiepEi in the pan with the eggs. When the water temperature reaches 55 degrees Celsius, the PiepEi egg timer gives a 'beep' as control signal. At 100°C the PiepEi gives another signal that the heat can be reduced. The built-in sensor measures the water temperature and calculates the temperature of the yolk. Thus the PiepEi also works when the water does not boil and when the eggs are put into a pan with cold or boiling water.
