Dutch design produced in Guatemala
During their journey through Guatemala, the Dutch design duo Van Eijk and Van der Lubbe were inspired by the local glassblowing techniques. Together with Vicente and his colleagues, Van Eijk and Van der Lubbe created the Cantel collection for Imperfect Design. The Cantel series includes glasses, vases, and carafes.
Four different colors
Like the vases and glasses, the Cantel carafes are available in 4 colors; amber, aqua, green, and transparent. To create these specific colors, the designers were dependent on the available glass. No additional colorants have been added. Every carafe has its own colors and is therefore unique.
Handwork with recycled glass
All products in the Cantel series are mouth blown from recycled glass. The different shapes and colors in the Cantel series (glasses, vases, and carafes) can be endlessly combined. Every product is produced with great care and dedication by local glassblowers. Because all these are blown by hand, small glass bubbles may be visible in the end product.
