The Knight's Hall in The Hague
The Ridderzaal is the medieval reception hall of the Count's castle in the middle of the Binnenhof in The Hague. The Ridderzaal is used for ceremonial state meetings, including the annual Speech from the Throne (not during the renovation). The hall was the reception hall of the count's hall complex built in the thirteenth century and was called the Grote or Hoge Zaal and was built by order of Count Willem II of Holland and completed around 1288 under Count Floris V of Holland. The late medieval Knights' Hall measures 17.89 meters wide and 38.30 meters deep. The roof has a free span of 17.80 meters. The base of the hood is 7.53 meters high and the ridge is 25.74 meters high. The facades have a thickness of 1.20 meters and buttresses of 1.10 by 1.55 meters thick. The hall rests on three contiguous cellars with walls of 1.26 to 1.55 meters thick.
Snellies Waskit
Mandy and Manon Snel from Utrecht focus on handmade candles from special towers and objects. That started with the Domtoren candle conceived, designed, and produced by their uncle Ruud Snel in Ruud's Waskit. After his death, Mandy and Manon renamed the Waskit as Snellies Waskit and expanded the range with more towers and objects.
