Michael Barnaart's iconic Mondrian dress is also available as an enamel brooch! Couturier Yves Saint Laurent showed various creations in his autumn/winter collection 1965/66, inspired by modern art, including several Mondrian dresses. More than 50 years later and in the 150th year of Piet Mondrian's birth, Michael Barnaart pays tribute with his Mondrian dress. Each enamel brooch is engraved and numbered, which also makes it a unique collector's item. You will receive the Mondrian dress brooch in a matching storage box.

About Mondrian

Piet Mondrian (1872 – 1944) was a Dutch painter, art theorist, and pioneer of abstract and non-figurative art. Especially his later geometric-abstract work, with distinctive horizontal and vertical black lines and primary colors is world-famous and serves as inspiration for many architects and designers of applied art. Mondrian Works can be found in The Hague City Museum (over 300 including the unfinished Victory Boogie Woogie), Kröller Müller Museum – and in the US: Museum of Modern Art New York, National Gallery of Art Washington.

This Dutch fashion designer, based in The Hague, presented his first couture collection in 2008. His work is characterized by accessibility, clear design, and unique graphic designs. Authentic culture is translated into accessible designs, both in aesthetics and price. With comfortable jersey dresses, Michael Barnaart places his work at the intersection of industrial design, graphic design, and art.
