The Amsterdam Bracelet

For people with a warm spot for Amsterdam in their hearts. The three crosses in the bracelet come from the coat of arms and are recognizable for Amsterdam, city of diversity (with 180 nationalities) and freedom. You’ll find the crosses on all kinds of places: on the Amsterdammertjes, the metal poles in the centre of Amsterdam, but also on the shirts of Ajax. 

Black steel in three sizes

The bracelet is made of black steel where the 3 crosses are cut out. The Amsterdam bracelet is gender neutral and available in three sizes S, M and L, with a diameter of 5.7, 6 or 6.8 cm for wrists up to 16 cm circumference, 16 to 17.5 cm, and of more than 17.5 cm. You can customize the size a bit further: squeeze the bracelet gently when wearing it.

The three crosses in the Amsterdam coat of arms

At the heart of the Amsterdam city coat of arms are three St Andrew's crosses, named after the Apostle Andreas, who martyred to such a cross would have died. The weapon consists of three vertical bands in the colours red-black-red. The crosses are in the black course. The origin of the coat of arms is not known. The black course would depict the water to which the city is located, as in Dordrecht and Delft. Two other places around Amsterdam, Ouder-Amstel and Nieuwer-Amstel also have St Andrew's crosses in their weapon. Possible they are taken from the coat of arms of the Persijn, a family from Waterland, who once owned a lot of land in and around Amsterdam.
